Meet Stevie Wolff – a live-out-loud, low filter-setting, high sense of loyalty, baker of pet treats and mama to two rescue pit bulls – Aggie, and 3-legged Gimp. She’s broke, she’s determined, and she’s the friend you call when you need to dish on your new boyfriend or complain about the old one. She’ll drive hours to help deliver a rescue dog from California to its new furever home in Vermont, and will always, always have your back.
Then there’s Clark. Clark is brilliant. And a brilliant social failure. He always seems to say the wrong things when he tries to engage with others. That doesn’t stop him from trying, it just stops him from succeeding. But he’s kind. He’s a good friend. He’s a hard worker. When people get him, they love him. And he loves his rescue pit bull named Kitty.
On the surface, Clark and Stevie shouldn’t work. She’s loud. He gets embarrassed. He talks in code. She gets confused. He likes it quiet. She’s a party girl! But something sparks. Stevie gets interested. Clark is looking twice. And the dogs? Well, they’re just icing on the cake.
